The 70’s “AgrupaEjido” is founded

In the mid 70’s a group of agricultural companies began to commercialise their fruit and vegetable produce in their place of origin.

In 1979 AgrupaEjido S.A was established to provide a Commercialisation in Origin service of the fresh fruit and vegetable produce from Almeria.

The 80’s “The launch into the exterior market”

In 1982 the exportation activity began towards exterior markets through Panda Export S.A, a company of which AgrupaEjido S.A. is a 100% investee.

The 90’s “From strength to strength”

The commitment to farmers’ services and a clever alliance policy involving big producers allowed sustainable growth and convertedAgrupaEjido into one of the principle fruit and vegetable sellers in Almeria.

The New Century, “The growth”

In 2000 the Cehorpa grain warehousewas bought in orderto reach local sales of 158.387 Tm per yearand almost 1000.000 Tm per year in outside sales.

New centres were bought, reaching a total area of 50.000 m² situated in the most productive zones in the Almerian province.

With this, AgrupaEjido became the biggest fruit and vegetable seller in Andalucía as well as one of the leading companies in the industry.

The New Decade

AgrupaEjido has got through the difficult economic cycle. It has focused its strategy on farmers and making investments and deals with leading companies that will create synergies such as the Joint Venture with the Norwegian multinational YARA, a global leader in fertilizers. It has also been paying more attention to its entrance into the American market through the Mexican company Almerimex.

Currently, it is working on its entrance into the booming Brazilian market and on the deal made with important technology companies for the development of intensive eco-efficient farming.
